Regular readers of my blog will know that autism in particular and special needs in general are two things that are very close to my heart. For new readers, head to this post and this one to know how autism has changed my life irrevocably.
Manzil: Centre for Challenged Individuals, which is based in Sharjah, UAE, is hosting an 80-day-long fundraising event, which just asks you to run or walk 10km and raise sponsorship of AED10 per km. That’s it.
More details of where and when (the “when” aspect seems completely flexible; as long as you do it within the 80-day time period starting June 1st 2010) can be found at the official Run the World for Manzil website.
If I was in Dubai at the moment, this is definitely something I would participate in. My brother goes to Manzil and this event could mean many more facilities and options for him, so yes I have a vested interest in people doing this.
